Our Fair Use Policy

Welcome to Port Networks!

By using our service, you agree to abide by this fair use policy — so read on, and let’s keep things running smoothly (and legally)!

Purpose

We provide “unlimited” or high-capacity voice services, but no network is infinite—especially wireless.

This policy explains how we manage network performance so everyone has a good experience.

Reasonable Use

Our services are designed for:

  • typical residential internet usage, and
  • typical mobile phone usage.

If your usage looks like a data center, we’re going to notice.

Network Management Practices

Deprioritization

During times of congestion, your traffic may be slowed relative to other users.

Throttling or Restrictions

We may limit speeds or usage if:

  • your usage is significantly higher than typical users
  • your usage negatively impacts the network
  • your usage suggests non-consumer or automated activity

Hotspot / Tethering

Mobile plans may include limits on hotspot usage.

We may:

  • reduce speeds after a certain threshold
  • restrict excessive or continuous tethering

Video Optimization

We may optimize video streaming to manage network performance.

Roaming

Roaming (domestic or international) may be:

  • limited,
  • speed-restricted, or
  • unavailable depending on the plan.
Excessive Use

Examples of excessive use include:

  • continuous high-volume data transfer (e.g., hundreds of GBs/month on mobile)
  • 24/7 automated traffic
  • using mobile service as a full-time home ISP replacement (unless explicitly allowed)
What Happens If You Exceed Fair Use

We may:

  • temporarily slow your speeds
  • limit certain types of traffic
  • contact you to adjust usage
  • suspend or terminate service in extreme cases
No Guarantees

Speeds, latency, and availability depend on:

  • network conditions
  • location
  • device
  • underlying carrier performance
Updates

We may update this FUP from time to time. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated policy.

Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and the United States, and any disputes will be handled in local courts.
